Improved clarity in task management

The task management is a central function in Visual Shop Floor, supporting teams in the structured and goal-oriented handling of all relevant tasks. Typically, tasks progress through the phases “open”, “in progress”, and “done”.

With the latest update, the status of a task is now clearly highlighted in color – making it even more intuitive and instantly understandable at first glance:

Open tasks are highlighted in yellow,

Tasks in progress appear in blue,

Completed tasks are displayed in green.

In addition, a matching icon for each phase ensures that the status can be identified instantly – clear, unambiguous, and without room for interpretation.

his visual enhancement makes task management even more transparent: progress can be tracked more quickly, priorities set more easily, and results communicated more clearly. A simple but powerful update that makes everyday work on the shop floor noticeably easier.

Use of documents in audits

The audit function in Visual Shop Floor is a central tool for reviewing process standards and thereby proactively ensuring quality in the production environment. Using a freely definable questionnaire, audits can be targeted to relevant areas and carried out in a structured manner.

With the latest update, this function has been significantly expanded: from now on, reference documents can be assigned to individual questions. This gives auditors additional reference information during the review, providing helpful context. A practical example: for a question on the proper storage of components in material boxes, a reference image can be attached that shows the standard-compliant arrangement. The auditor can then directly compare the target state with the current situation on the shop floor.

This enhancement creates greater clarity and efficiency in the audit process. Auditors can identify deviations more quickly, visually reinforce standards, and document results with greater transparency. A powerful update that sustainably strengthens quality assurance in the production environment.

New filtering options in the Task Workload Widget

The Task Workload Widget is a central tool for keeping track of task distribution within the team at all times. By visualizing each person’s workload – whether from open tasks or tasks already in progress – it provides a solid foundation for resource planning.

With the latest update, the widget becomes even more powerful: extended filter options are now available, enabling a more targeted analysis of the task situation. In addition to the existing overview, tasks can now be differentiated by status, priority, or task type, for example.

This added flexibility brings significant advantages:

Filters help narrow down relevant tasks more quickly and identify key focus areas.
Optimal resource utilization:
Bottlenecks or imbalances in workload become visible at an early stage.

By selecting the right filter criteria, priorities can be set and topics displayed clearly.

With these optimizations, the Task Workload Widget becomes an even more powerful tool – making task distribution more transparent, keeping the focus on relevant topics, and ensuring a clear overview of the team’s overall situation at all times.

Hot Folder Widget now with images

The Hot Folder Widget is the ideal solution for using document-based information easily and transparently in shop floor management. It allows up-to-date information such as shift schedules, announcements, or general updates to be displayed clearly and neatly on dashboards – and especially on shop floor boards.

Until now, the Hot Folder Widget supported only PDF documents. With the latest update, the widget has become significantly more flexible: from now on, image files in JPG and PNG formats can also be integrated and displayed directly.

This opens up new possibilities for communication on the shop floor:

More design freedom:
In addition to PDFs, visually prepared content can now also be displayed in image format.
Easy integration:
Existing notices or information graphics can be used in the system without conversion.
Flexible use:
Whether shift schedules, visual announcements, or information posters – common formats can be easily integrated.

With this enhancement, the Hot Folder Widget becomes an even more versatile tool for internal communication – clear, flexible, and always tailored to the specific information needs.

Improved data collection overview with flexible sorting

The Data Input Time Table Widget in Visual Shop Floor makes it possible to manually record data along a timeline – for example, daily target quantities for different machines as well as the comparison of good and defective parts. This allows production data to be entered manually with ease, documented in a structured way, and evaluated at any time.

Until now, the individual rows were displayed only in the order in which they were originally defined. With the new update, the widget has become significantly more flexible: rows can now be sorted by default in the way that makes the most sense for the specific use case.

Whether by machine name, date, production item, or other criteria – the tailored sorting provides greater clarity and makes data entry much easier. As a result, relevant information can be accessed more quickly, comparisons carried out more easily, and evaluations performed more effectively.

Enhanced security with OAuth 2.0

Seamless integration into existing IT landscapes is one of the core strengths of Visual Shop Floor. With the latest update, authentication via OAuth 2.0 is now supported – an established standard for secure and flexible authorization in enterprise environments.

OAuth 2.0 makes it easy to connect Visual Shop Floor with a wide range of modern systems via REST interfaces – for example, Microsoft SharePoint or SAP. Communication with third-party systems no longer requires direct exchange of sensitive credentials. Instead, access is managed through time-limited access tokens that ensure a clearly defined and controlled permission structure. Companies benefit from easier administration, stronger security standards, and a future-proof integration framework.

With OAuth 2.0 support, Visual Shop Floor becomes even more flexible in connecting to external systems – while meeting the highest standards of IT security and user-friendliness.

Improvements and bug fixes

Storage optimization: Save files without duplicates

Previously, files, images, and documents used in different contexts were stored multiple times. From now on, a deduplication mechanism ensures that files are matched and uniquely referenced. As a result, the required storage volume is significantly reduced.

Obeya – Error when editing events

When opening and editing an event in an Obeya, an error message was previously displayed. With the new update, this issue has been resolved: events can now be opened directly in edit mode and adjusted without errors.

Smart Layout – Correct display of bookmarks

In the administration area, predefined sections of a Smart Layout can be saved as bookmarks. In certain cases, these sections were not displayed correctly when the bookmarks were accessed. With the latest update, this behavior has been fixed: the selected sections are now reliably saved and displayed correctly.
