The limits of my language mean the limits of my world
Supporting multilingualism is a fundamental prerequisite for using Visual Shop Floor in an international corporate environment, while at the same time providing users with an excellent user experience. So far, Visual Shop Floor has supported German, English, and Italian.
With the further development of language management in the current version, it is now possible—besides the already integrated languages German, English, and Italian—to add additional languages as needed, thereby overcoming all language barriers. In a dedicated section within the administration, languages can be independently activated or deactivated, and the underlying texts can be precisely defined. This enables a tailored adaptation of Visual Shop Floor to the specific requirements of your company and your employees.
In three simple steps, you can achieve your goal:
The user interface will then immediately be available in the new language and can be used by employees right away.
Linking Data Explorer and Digital Hall Mirror – Analyze and understand processes even more easily
The Data Explorer enables direct access to the data stored in Visual Shop Floor. With the help of a simple and intuitive search function, specific queries can be defined and also saved as bookmarks. This is not only convenient, but also saves time and provides an immediate overview at any moment. The results of these queries are displayed in the form of a table.
In the latest version of Visual Shop Floor, it is now possible to use bookmarks from the Data Explorer within the Smart Layout, provided there is a mapping to the underlying data model in Smart Layout. This means that you can also quickly and easily focus on the most important information in Smart Layout, identify potential needs for action, and respond in a timely manner.
Seamless integration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) through support for “AWS Signature”
Seamless integration into the existing system landscape and the simple connection of already available systems have always been a strength of Visual Shop Floor. With the new release, an additional authentication type has been added, enabling seamless integration of services from Amazon Web Services (AWS) .
For the use of AWS Signature, “Access Key,” “Region,” “Secret Key,” and “Service Name” can be stored, allowing access to services in AWS.
Especially for companies that have aligned their cloud strategy with AWS, this feature in Visual Shop Floor opens up new perspectives and enables them to use AWS in the context of production and logistics processes.
Always at hand – Access the user manual directly in Visual Shop Floor
As a no-code/low-code platform, Visual Shop Floor has consistently been designed so that all content and functions can be easily and flexibly adapted to company-specific requirements without any programming knowledge. The user manual is a fundamental aid in making use of the many features and thereby unlocking the full potential of Visual Shop Floor.
From now on, the user manual can be accessed and used directly within Visual Shop Floor at any time. In addition, the manual has been structurally revised. Alongside the familiar module-based structure, there is now also a section with how-to guides on fundamental topics, as well as the option to use a full-text search to directly find and access relevant content. This makes it even easier to refer to the manual when needed, and possibly also discover functions that were not yet known.
The best way is simply to try it out: Administration → User Manual – and you’re ready to go.
Enhanced PDF widget: Content in detail and at a glance
In addition to simple and intuitive data visualization, Visual Shop Floor has always offered the possibility to work with document-based content. Due to their wide use, PDF documents play a particularly important role in this context.
With the latest update, the widget for displaying PDF files has been functionally enhanced, enabling easier and more efficient use. These improvements not only mark another step toward greater user-friendliness in Visual Shop Floor but also open the door to a flexible and efficient way of handling PDF documents.
Specifically, it is now possible to display either a single page or the entire PDF document within the widget. In addition, the document can be downloaded and saved locally.
Beyond the option to upload a PDF document directly in the widget, it is now also possible to embed a document via a URL. Especially in combination with URL parameters, this creates many possibilities for use in dynamic contexts such as order changes or user changes.
Automatic reset of search filters in Smart Layout
When switching between different views in the Smart Layout, search filters previously remained active. From now on, the search filters will automatically reset, ensuring a cleaner user experience.
Application of filters in the Export API
When retrieving data via the Export API using filter parameters, malfunctions could occur under certain circumstances. These issues have been resolved, and data can now be retrieved using all valid filters without errors.
Validation of event input
When editing events in the user interface, the save button was, in some cases, active even with incomplete inputs. This malfunction has been fixed in the current version, and events can now only be saved if the entries are valid.
