Solunio’s AI Strategy: Visual Shop Floor becomes an Intelligent Assistance System

At Hannover Messe 2026, Solunio will present its first concrete artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities for digital Shop Floor Management – fully integrated into the software platform Visual Shop Floor.
AI in Shop Floor Management
Hall 15, Booth G72 – Artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving from a technology trend into a strategic success factor for industrial companies. While many organizations are still discussing potential applications, Solunio is taking the next step. With a clearly defined AI strategy and the newly integrated AI Scout, the company is expanding its Visual Shop Floor platform with practical AI-powered capabilities designed for real operational use. Visitors at Hannover Messe will be able to experience these innovations live for the first time – including an interactive Shop Floor Chat.

From transparency to intelligent support

Digital Shop Floor Management is now firmly established in many manufacturing and logistics environments. Software solutions have replaced analog boards, provide real-time performance metrics, document deviations, and manage actions across the entire shop floor escalation structure. This has created a reliable foundation for transparency, accountability, and process stability.

However, as data volumes grow and operational environments become increasingly dynamic, the requirements for analysis, prioritization, and decision-making also increase. Information is available – but the real challenge lies in quickly interpreting it and translating it into effective actions. This is precisely where the AI Scout comes in, extending the existing system with an additional, intelligent assistance layer.

AI Scout: bringing AI into daily operations

With the AI Scout, Solunio is gradually integrating artificial intelligence as a core component of the platform Visual Shop Floor. One of the first available features is the Shop Floor Chat, which allows users to ask interactive questions related to Shop Floor Management – for example about priorities, current events, responsibilities, or open issues. Users receive context-aware, dialog-based support that makes information easier to access and helps accelerate decision-making processes.

In addition, several AI-powered “assistants” support system configuration and customization – especially within the No-Code/Low-Code framework that enables autonomous system adaptation. These “assistants” significantly reduce administrative effort by intelligently preparing and guiding configuration and adjustment processes.

Instead of navigating complex configuration interfaces and manually setting parameters, users increasingly take on the role of subject-matter decision-makers and validators. The technical implementation is prepared and supported in the background. This approach significantly reduces the effort required for administration and system evolution while increasing flexibility. As a result, operational leaders and domain experts are noticeably relieved and can focus more on content-related questions and leadership responsibilities.

Methodology remains – Impact increases

The core principles of Shop Floor Management – transparency, structured communication, escalation logic, and continuous improvement – remain unchanged. Artificial intelligence does not replace leadership or responsibility. Instead, it enhances the effectiveness of established methodologies: relevant issues are identified faster, relationships become clearer, and decision-making processes are more effectively supported.

The system therefore evolves from a purely informational and organizational platform for shop floor processes into an active assistance system that provides guidance in day-to-day operations and highlights priorities more clearly.

A clear roadmap for the future

Solunio continues to develop Visual Shop Floor with a clear strategic goal: through the targeted use of artificial intelligence, the platform will gradually evolve into an adaptive, learning system. This system will connect operational and strategic questions seamlessly and provide long-term support for decision-makers. AI is therefore not seen as an additional module, but as an integral component of a future-ready shop floor architecture.

Visual Shop Floor supports industrial companies throughout the entire evolution of Shop Floor Management – from the analog whiteboard to digital transparency and now to AI-supported decision-making. The features presented at Hannover Messe make this next stage of development tangible for the first time.
